testo 440 - Multi-instrument for ventilation and indoor climates

Use the testo 440 airflow and indoor climate meter in combination with high-quality sensors (including testo SmartProbes) to measure and record all ventilation and indoor climate parameters (sensors sold separately). Up to 3 sensors can be connected simultaneously: one Bluetooth sensor, one wired sensor, and one temperature sensor with a Type K thermocouple connector. Thanks to automatic sensor detection and clearly structured measurement menus, the instrument is very easy to use and will make your daily measurement tasks significantly easier.

Take measurements with just a few clicks
Measurement should be quick and easy—the testo 440 air flow and indoor climate meter automatically recognizes all connected sensors. This means you never have to manually reset any measurement parameters when switching to a different sensor. Clearly structured measurement menus for volume flow in ducts/air outlets, turbulence level, cooling/heating load, moisture damage risk indication, and logging function. With these menus, you can complete your measurements faster, more efficiently, and more reliably. Reports can be exported as Excel files via the USB interface or printed on-site.

Wireless and compact—more applications, less equipment
Highly versatile: with a universal handle that can be connected to any sensor, you can handle more applications with less equipment while freeing up space in your toolbox.
The Bluetooth handle can transmit measurement values up to 20 meters, eliminating cable clutter and freeing up space in your tool bag. A wired handle is also available as a practical alternative. This is a major advantage if Bluetooth signals are not permitted.

Practical Data Management
The multi-instrument can store up to 7,500 measurement blocks, which can be downloaded via a USB port and further processed as a CSV file on your computer (e.g., using Excel). With Testo’s BLUETOOTH/IRDA printer (sold separately), you can print a report with your measurement data directly on site.

Intelligent calibration concept for maximum accuracy
You can rely on accurate measurement results when using our digital transducers, since the measurement uncertainty in the instrument has now been eliminated. You simply need to send in the sensor unit for calibration and continue using the multi-instrument itself.

Accurate and reliable in channels and fittings

  • There is a wide range of sensors to choose from: hot-wire and vane sensors for measurements in ducts, and large vane sensors with a diameter of 100 mm for measurements at air outlets in walls and ceilings.
  • Quick airflow calculation: In the measurement menu, you can easily enter the dimensions and shape of the duct. The airflow is displayed immediately on the instrument’s screen in either l/s or m³/h.
  • You’ll also discover how easy it is to measure really large objects. That’s because the telescoping rod on the wire and impeller sensors can be extended even further with the telescoping accessory—allowing you to extend the sensor to a total length of 2 meters.
  • Take measurements at high altitudes without using a ladder. Attach the extendable telescopic sensor at a 90° angle to the sensor and, if necessary, the telescopic accessory as well (both must be ordered separately).
  • Use the vane wheels in combination with Testos measurement sleeves over air outlets and ventilation grilles.
  • Convenient Bluetooth interface: Use the airflow sensors without the hassle of cables. Simply press the button on the handle to, for example, start and stop a calculation of the time-averaged value at a specific measurement point.
  • Use the handy magnets to attach the multi-tool to a metal surface (e.g., a ventilation duct)

Long-term monitoring of indoor air quality

  • The right sensor for your needs: sensors for CO2, CO, air temperature, and humidity are available with Bluetooth or a wired connection.
  • Easy to use: Set the measurement time and interval in the menu for long-term measurements, and keep track of the results throughout the day.

Turbulence measurement compliant with EN ISO 7730 / ASHRAE 55

  • Achieve high accuracy with a turbulence sensor, even at low air velocities.
  • Automatic calculation of draft and turbulence in accordance with EN ISO 7730/ASHRAE 55.
  • For convenient measurements at various heights, we recommend our stand for comfort level measurements. It makes it very easy to position the turbulence sensors in accordance with applicable standards.

Sensors for Cleanrooms and Laboratories

  • Draft cabinet sensor for accurate measurements of air velocity in draft cabinets
  • Thanks to its low starting speed of 0.1 m/s, the high-precision vane wheel sensor (Ø 100 mm) is ideal for laminar flow measurements in cleanrooms. The sensor is available with a fixed cable and with Bluetooth.
  • High-precision humidity/temperature sensor (0636 9771 or 0636 9772) with an accuracy of ±(0.6% RH + 0.7% of the measured value) in the range 0 ... 90% RH for measurements in cleanrooms.
