testo 470 – a flexible combi instrument for both optical and mechanical speed measurement

Need to measure the speed of rotating objects or record the length and speed of conveyor belts and rotors? The testo 470 tachometer is a compact tool that allows these measurements to be made.

testo 470 – a tachometer with many functions

For optical speed measurement, you can use the testo 470 speedometer to record the speed of a rotating object. Thus, for example, you can check whether motors, shafts and fans are working properly to detect any imminent failure due to overload at an early stage.

For optical speed measurement: attach a piece of reflective tape to the measurement object and direct the visible red beam towards the reflective marker. The measurement can then start (at a distance of up to 600 mm between the tachometer and the measurement object). The tachometer can be easily operated with one hand.

The speedometer testo 470 not only has functions for an optical speed measurement. It also serves as a mechanical gauge for rpm, speed and length. Attach the adapter to the measuring tip and measure the speed mechanically against e.g. an axle end. Attach the wheel to also measure the speed and length of rotors and conveyor belts.

The testo 476 is operated with a handy one-handed grip. High accuracy and stability thanks to dynamic tuning. A bright xenon lamp (approx. 1200 lux, distance 20 cm) makes it easy to measure speed and vibration without reflectors on the target. Trigger function for automatic flashing frequency makes it easy to see if, for example, a system is ‘slipping’. The powerful batteries provide an operating time of about 2 hours before they need to be recharged.
